I seem to have forgotten to mention I've obtained my ISA Judging certification... After 20 years of competition and 5 years judging, I've finally gotten certified and made it official!

I'm pretty proud to be asked to Judge the last four days of the first annual United States Police and Fire Fighters Surfing Championships. I'm very grateful to receive a gift of a challenge coin from the Department of Navy, Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). You can not buy these extremely special and rare coins.

Looking through my closet this morning and I realized I have 20 years of surfing event t-shirts... 20 years of competitive surfing and 5 years as a professional surfing Judge. Letters from the Road: Made it back to California in one piece after having to sleep the night at the Brussel International Airport because there where no trains running to the airport on the morning of my flight. My time in the Netherlands with the SurfBenelux Crew was an amazingly great time and I was very stoked to be asked to Head Judge 3 events they where running. I'm even more excited that I was asked to return next your to Europe to Head Judge their event schedule in 2012. This weekend I'm announcing the World Longboarding Association's ASP-LQS event at legendary right hand point break C Street in Ventura, California. I'm really excited to mix and mingle with some of my favorite people in the professional longboarding community and call all the action with the best loggers in the World!! Yeeeeeew boys!! After the WLA event in Ventura I will be head Judge for the Dempsey Holder Pro-Am at the Imperial Beach Pier. I made the finals several times in the Dempsey Holder event and I've always supported it because this event is in memory of an amazing waterman and San Diego LEGEND, Dempsey Holder, and is a platform for awareness for clean ocean water and ridding our oceans of pollution with the excellent environmental awareness of WildCoast! Letters from the Road... The QuikSilver Domburg Classic 2011 was cancelled due to lack of contestable surf. I was honored to be asked to Head Judge the contest to determine the best surfers in Germany, Belgium, Luxinburg, and of course The Netherlands. I've really enjoyed living here in Europe for the last 3 months. I actually got to meet Shannon Ainslie, from South Africa. Shannon is pretty famous on YouTube for his video of being attacked by two great white sharks and living to tell about his experience. I felt like I was touching the lepricon's pot of gold shacking Shannon's hand and listening to him talk about the experience. I truely genuine guy and a very stoked surfer. We shared the common experience of having Dutch girlfriends. I was also stoked to meet the guys at the DutchWaterCrew who where there in Domburg and everyone partied the time away in the hopes of the hang-over sacrifice would bring rideable waves to the event on Sunday morning. The fact was there was no surf and that was that. Mother nature didn't lend a hand. There is always next year. I am very thankful and grateful to all of the new friends I have in several different country's in our global surfing community and gathered together to make for one fun and stoked out event. Letters from the Road: I'm in the Netherlands, traveling through Europe a bit, to judge the SurfBenelux Pro in Schevengine, The Netherlands, and Domburg, Belgium... This weekends event has been canceled due to a lack of swell in the water, so I'm heading out to an event called the Woodstock 2011. Going to be a big evening with live DJ's and a Jimi Hendrix cover band, and a host of the local up and coming pro surfers living and traveling here in the Netherlands. Going to be a fun evening. I'm going to be headed back to legendary Surf City Huntington Beach thise Friday, Saturday and Sunday for The Ocean Current USBA National Bodyboarding Tour. Last year I was down the beach commentating the World Longboard Association (WLA) event watching the boyz up at Ocean Current slaying the bodyboarding action with Tow-ats and ROCKING the Huntington Beach house with MEGA reckless abandon! The Pipe Posse should be headed over to SoCal and will on hand again to throw down the best in progressive bodyboarding innovation!! These boyz always do it proper and crack big airs, flips, and roll-O's!! This is going to be one great event. Cruise down to Huntington Beach Pier and who knows, maybe just maybe you might find me on the mic for a bit... Spread the kine love around, Aloha all !!
