Hey Sam, how’s 2018 been going for you?

Hello! Although we are only a couple of months into the year, 2018 is looking like a very promising year! Joining the Monster Army team for this year has been a massive milestone already and is definitely helping me grow as a rider. I’ve been feeling very solid on the bike and have had the pleasure of travelling around Australia to ride with some of my best friends which has been sick! Coming back from a broken elbow which put me out for just over 2 months at the end of last year has been hard but I’m very happy with where I’m at, and for what is planned for this year so far!

What do you have planned for this upcoming year?

This year I have a lot of things I’m really excited about coming up! I’m excited to be travelling to Canada in July for the FISE stop followed by a few weeks in America! And then I’m looking at making it to China for the final stop of the series!

Alongside contests, I’m just super determined to ride hard all year, stay healthy and do the best that I can wherever I end up!

Do you have a trip planned for this season that you’re most excited about?

Definitely getting the opportunity to go to Raleigh, North Carolina and stay with my good friend Brandon Loupos and his roommate Brian Fox in July would be the biggest stand out for this year! It has always been a dream to spend time in America doing what I love and it’s definitely going to up the level of my riding and I can’t wait to hang out and ride with all the dudes over there!

We just launched Monster Army in Australia, you’re one of the first riders on the program there, how do you feel about the Army expanding to Australia?

I’m grateful to have be chosen as one of the first Army riders out here in Australia. I feel as if this is a big move in the right direction and will give the upcoming kids something to work hard for and will definitely help showcase more and more riders as they grow even all over the world!

You’re the only rider living in Sydney, right? But you’ve been able to meet up with some of our other Army riders, too?

Yes, I am currently the only Army rider living in Sydney! I have been fortunate enough to be able to meet up with the other two Aussie Army riders earlier this year up in Brisbane! My good friends Jack and Alec are amazing riders, we are still always pushing each other and keep in good contact although we all live in different states across the country! Jack will also be staying with me in Raleigh and it will be sick to ride with some of the teammates from America!

If you could session with anyone in the world, who would you want to session with and where?

If I could pick anybody to ride with I’d have to choose my good friends; Brandon Loupos, Jack Borthwick and Alec Danelutti! If I could pick anywhere in the world I would have to pick Corby/Adrenaline alley in England and I can only imagine the sessions which we would have there!

Who’s your favorite person to ride with? Anyone in particular that gets you motivated?

Brandon Loupos! I have been riding almost every day with Brandon for the past couple of years and over that time he has helped me on and off the bike and I’m stoked to be able to shred every day with one of the best in the world!

Do you have any contest rituals or superstitions?

Honestly, none that I know of yet, but I’m sure we will find out very soon!

What music are you usually jamming out to?

I love music! But if I had to narrow it down, anything from Kendrick, Biggie, Nas, all the legends you can’t go wrong with!

Favorite flavor of Monster…

Hands down has the be the Rossi flavour, I can’t get enough of it!!!

Awesome, Sam. Any last shout outs or thank yous?

I just wanna say thanks to everyone at Monster for giving me this opportunity, Terry from BMX Mafia for keeping me rolling and all my friends and family for always being there and keeping me motivated!

Thanks guys!
