Monster Army

Captain Conner Mullennix is AOTW

For this week's  Monster Army Athlete of the Week we have young gun motocross rider Conner Mullennix from Lakeside, CA. No stranger to the podium, Conner has been traveling the country making a name for himself throughout the amateur motocross community. Conner has put a lot of work in to get to the point he's at today and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. For these reasons Conner Mullennix is AOTW!

Here's what Conner had to say when we caught up with him.

-Who influences you and why?

Buddy Antunez, Tristan Miller, and Eli Tomac all influence me because they are hard dedicated workers who strive and achieve what they desire.

-What/ Who inspired you to ride moto?

Really Ricky Carmichael inspired me. Watching him race while growing up, I craved the freedom of being just you and a bike.

-What are your proudest moments/ accomplishments in 2013/2014?

This year I'm really proud of all my hard work is paying off. I had a few podium finishes and a championship title at the Texas nationals, qualified for both my classes for Loretta's and I was also picked to represent Team USA in Belgium.

-What part of your riding are you looking to improve upon most this season?

This season I am trying to improve my mental strength . A lot of people who do not understand the sport think we just twist the throttle, but you need to be mentally strong .

-Have you had to overcome any challenges that made riding an obstacle at times? (i.e. Injuries, support)

I have not had any serious injuries but I do have to overcome balancing school, social life, and having enough time on the bike and at the gym. Additionally getting to the track with my families work schedule.

-What is your daily routine and how do you prepare yourself for a day of riding?

During the school year I wake up and get on my spin bike before school, finish school, then head the track to train a few nights a week. Additionally my homework is done on the way to the track. My summer routine is waking up heading to the track with the Budman crew, riding all day then heading to the gym. Repeat the next day. I prepare by always eating healthy and having a great nights rest.

-Where would you like to see yourself in the next few years?

In the next few years I would like to see myself rise through out the motocross scene and then be given a chance to turn pro.

-When I’m not riding you can find me____________________?

When I am not riding you can find me at the gym, road biking, or fishing.

-Who would you like to thank?

I would like to give thanks to my mom and dad, FMF, KTM Orange Brigade, Moose racing, Monster Army, One Industries, ODI Grips, Bell Helmets, 100 Percent, Dunlop, Parts Unlimited, Hookit, Nihilio Tribe, All American KTM, Dubya USA, Motorex, Klen Laundry, Vertex, Motion Pro, WP suspension, Renthal, Hinson, and Buddy Antunez.
