For the third year in a row Monster Army is proud to support the FLBMX Skatepark Series. This weekend stop number one of five went down on Florida's west coast at Payne Park in Sarasota. This unique points series drew riders in from as far as Michigan to compete for their spot on the podium and a share of the series points. Taking the first place open win was none other than Monster Army's own Jackie Straiton fresh off of his second place finish at the Recon tour Am Final last month. Right behind Jackie on the podium was another Monster Army rider and Recon Tour Am finalist Justin Dowell followed by Jay Dalton in third.
Jackie earned his way to the top of the podium showing a great level of consistency and fore during his runs. A few highlights from Jackie's runs included a super clean hip whip to bar out of the gate, a giant head high double whip and his signature bri-flip.
Justin Dowell made his way into the second podium spot with some very technical riding that included several tail whip combos and even a 180 double bearskin to disaster to bar spin in. Other Monster Army riders in attendance included Brian Fox and David Lieb who fell just short of the podium coming in 4th and 5th.
Be sure to make your way down to Florida for the second stop of this series on January 16th at Skatepark of Tampa. Also don't forget that all of the stops in this series are Paid to Podium events so you just may come out with some cash!
