Fontana brought out its challenging side this past weekend at the 2nd round of the Fontana Winter Series. with less-than-ideal conditions, Riders were pushed outside of their comfort zones, having to improvise their game plans on how to attack the track. soaked rocks and muddy dirt conditions, made for exciting action from the spectator side and a challenging endeavor for riders, as all athletes held it as wide open as they could in the rain and slop. Our athletes stayed dry on the podium and put together fast and fluid runs, keeping it rubber side down to make it to the bottom and into warmer clothing.
The Rain brought a stacked field of riders all gunning for the top spot. Bruce Klein snagged the 2nd place spot on the podium, missing the win by less than 2 seconds. Blake Motley followed with a 10th place finish. In Juniors, Steven Walton repeated his podium trend with a 2nd place finish and Travis Claypool in 4th place, with Dante Silva and Drake Barron following up with 8th and 9th place finishes. Kaden Pankow and Nate Luna conquered the podium, going 1-2 in Open Jr. Men (14&under).
