Monster Army Heads to X Games

Author: Olivia Reed

BMX General Colton Walker and Major Brian Fox are headed to Minneapolis, Minnesota to compete at X Games. This weekend, both athletes will make their X Games debut, hoping to come home with the Gold.

General Colton Walker is no stranger to winning, coming off back-to-back Nitro Circus World Game wins, a Baltic Games top spot and respectable fourth place finishes at Fise and the Toyota BMX Triple Challenge, Walker is always one to watch. Solidifying his spot in the BMX Park final, Walker qualified 5th in the BMX Park Qualifier in Boise, Idaho earlier this summer. As part of the Road to X Games content series, Walker along with 5 other athletes qualified into the finals. Walker will compete Saturday, July 15 at 12pm CT against Monster Energy athletes Pat Casey, Mike Varga, Kevin Peraza and defending BMX Park Best Trick champion Kyle Baldock. Walker also takes on BMX dirt this weekend, with not one but TWO very real chances of taking home some hardware. Hungry for a victory, the Wisconsin resident, returns to birthplace Minneapolis, Minnesota ready to take home his first X Games medal.

Monster Army’s own Brian Fox will be heading to Minnesota hoping to qualify into the final for BMX Dirt. Fox will compete in a preliminary round on Friday, July 14 against 15 other riders before advancing to a 10-person final on Sunday, July 16. Earlier this year, Fox upset three-time X Games Dirt Gold medalist Kyle Baldock at the Toyota Triple Challenge in Phoenix, Arizona where Fox led the pack with a double flip on the first set followed by a 1080 on the second. Coming off this big win, Fox racked up a handful of podiums across the Florida BMX Skatepark Series, Toronto X-Jam and Nitro World Games. Fox is a force to be reckoned with, keep an eye out for him throwing down hammers all weekend long.
