Ricky Carmichael Amateur SX Daytona
The 250 all star class was a clean sweep as
Monster Army Major Darian Sanayei took the top step on the podium followed by
MA team mates, Chase Bell in second and Austin Forkner in 3rd…
Stilez Robertson was making moves in the Mini
Sr classes but finished just shy of the championships he was pushing for, he
took home 2nd place in both Mini Sr classes… Darian was making waves again in
the 450A class where he took home the championship, he also finished 3rd in the
250 pro sport class.
The schoolboy 2 class is where all the action
seemed to be happening this week with a heated battle between 2 Monster Army
Majors, Austin Forkner and Joey Crown were exchanging blows for the final 3
laps of moto 2 in which Joey managed to edge out in front and hold Forkner off
for the last lap, making him the Schoolboy 2 Daytona Champion… Not all was lost
for Austin though as he took home the 250B championship…
Mitchell Harrison also had a great week at
Daytona, earning 2 x 2nd places in the pro sport classes… Army sergeant Brook
Whipple should also get a mention as she struggled all week with bike issues
but she held strong and finished with a 3rd place in the Womens amateur
class.
All in all the Army stomped through Daytona
and took home 20 podiums!
James Stewart Freestone Spring National
Freestone was a tough week of racing, both
physically demanding and heavy on the heart as there were several serious
injuries and unfortunately a young Californian racer, Tyler Hoeft lost his
life.
Monster Army Major Zac Commans was in a bad
crash on Monday and spent 24 hours in a coma but thankfully pulled
through and is now making great strides in his recovery.
On a lighter note the stand out rider of the
week was Austin Forkner who went down in a first corner pile up seating him
dead last by half a lap… He charged his way through the pack, passing riders 3
and 4 at a time! It wasn’t long before he was battling with Army Major Blake
Green for first place, Austin managed to get out front on the second to last
lap and brought it home!
Overall we had 21 podiums at Freestone!
