Ocotillo Wells, the ‘Mecca' of free riding…
After today I think we all have a better understanding of the vast wilderness that we have seen so many times growing up watching the OG free-ride videos…
After a 5am call we hit the road headed for the dessert… A handful of the guys had been out there as kids but none of us had any real idea of what we were headed into…
We met up with the Team Green and Grindstone crews just off the highway and drove a half mile into the dessert before setting up camp for the day.
Everyone was so pumped to see the dunes with their own eyes that half the group were already out exploring the area around the camp before the rest of us had unloaded our bikes!
Once the Mule was loaded up with gas, water and camera equipment we took heed of landmarks around the camp and set off into the boonies…
It didn’t take long for us to find some berms to blow out for the camera then on to some step ups and hip jumps… Cameron Cannon won the best blow out of the day with the shot below… The other side of that dune was a 40 foot drop and Cameron just absolutely smashed it! Dropped the rear tire over the edge and still somehow managed to hold it together! Props!
Joachim Falden showed off some of his style while some of the crew took a breather…
Zac Commans and Austin Forkner were on fire all day, blasting jumps, railing sandy ruts and looking good while doing it….
As the day wound down some of the guys just kept sending it, Gage Schehr is definitely one of them! Check out this sick shot of him floating this booter at the end of the day!
As the sun set Cameron and Zac decided to hit up Mexico to find some chicas to help wash their bikes….
