Triston Judd is Athlete of the Week

Author: Tim Remick

Welcome Triston, Glad to have you! How is 2017 treating you so far?

Hi and thanks for having me! 2017 has been pretty great! I have raced in 5 different Nationals this year so far in Class and Cruiser; Won the President’s Cup in Louisville on Cruiser; and have started racing down the Super Cross Hill this year as well. I am excited for the rest of the year as well with another 15 or more National planned.

You came away with 3 wins and a silver from Grands last year.  Seems like you had a pretty good weekend, yeah?
The Grands were awesome! I felt dialed in all weekend for both the Race of Champions and The Grand Nationals. The Grands was my first race as a 17-18 Expert and the competition was pretty stacked. It felt great to run in the top of that class!

With so many races in the USABMX national schedule, How are you able to make it to them?

I am very fortunate to have such great sponsors and a supportive family that make it all possible. My dad, Alex, drives me to all the Nationals. To date I have never been in a plane!

Where is your favorite track to race at?

I’d say that my favorite is probably South Park in South Park, PA or Nashville. It is hard to pick out one… I have been very fortunate to be able to ride tracks all over the United States and there are lots of great tracks out there!

You are a positive influence outside the track to the younger generation of racers coming up.  This has to be a rewarding feeling to give back to the sport.

Absolutely! I enjoy the kids almost as much as I do racing. I feel it is very important to take the time to be positive role model; to stop and talk to them; ask them how their racing is going or even just give a “high five”. You never know what kind of a difference you may make in that kid’s life.

What are your favorite race day tunes to get you pumped?

I listen to a pretty wide variety… from hard rock to believe it or not… classical. Yes… it is ok to laugh!

Right on, Triston!  Thanks for your time and we wish you the best this year.  Anyone supporters you would like to thank?

Yes! I would like to thank Bryan Murphy and Gold’s Gym, Monster Army, 100% Speedlab, Stealth Hubs, Alienation Wheels, Jason Smith (Tru You), Diana Terry and Dillon Terry Racing, ODI, Troy Lee Designs, Rockwell Watches, Sidi Cycling, LAM Apparel, Dan’s Comp, Bad Ace Designs and Tangent Products.
