Hi Gabby, how’s 2018 kicking off for you?
2018 is starting off amazing, my first contest of the new year
was the WSL Sunset Jr. Pro, and I am very happy to get the win there! This was
my first WSL Jr. Pro win. So it was definitely nice to start the year with a
big win!
What do you have planned for this upcoming year?
I am going
to Australia mid February for a couple WSL QS 6,000 events. Then heading
straight to Tahiti for another QS and Jr. Pro. After that I will head home and
get ready for some more contest later this year!
Do you have a trip planned for this season that you’re most
excited about?
Yes! I am really excited for every trip, but one that I am
really looking forward to is this summer my dad and I will be going to Bali and
around Indonesia to get some good waves, do a couple of contest, and just Surf
and have a good time!
What do you think your favorite place you’ve traveled has been
to?
Every Place that I have traveled to has been such a cool experience ,
I have a couple of Favorites, one would definitely be Indo, the waves there are
amazing just surfing all day getting the best waves ever, you can’t beat that.
Another favorite would be Japan, the culture is so cool, and the food is
AMAZING!
Any weird customs or experiences you got to have while
traveling?
Traveling to any other country is an experience in itself, in
some of the countries a lot of people trip out on how blonde my hair is, so
sometimes I get funny looks or people
will even come up to my and ask to touch my hair.
Are there any surfers that you look up to or that inspire
you?
Yes, all the girls on tour from Hawaii are amazing and so
inspiring to watch on tour.
What advice would you give to someone just starting to surf?
I would just say have fun, and never give up.
Any last thank you
or shout outs?
Thank you everyone at Monster Energy for all the
support!
