Author: Kyle Noble

Last weekend the FLBMX Skatepark Series made it's third stop of the year in Oviedo, Florida. Located about eight miles outside of Orlando the quite community is home to one of the southeast's lesser know gems of a skatepark. This city run cement park is every riders dream with one half of the park made up of plaza style street obstacles, and the other half dominated by a massive bowl containing numerous lines perfect for smooth flowing riding along with hips and jumps for throwing down the bangers.

As the sun began to set the Open Class riders took to the course. After winning the last two stops of the series all eyes were on Monster Army's own Jackie Straiton. Could he hold on to his winning streak, and claim another victory? The pressure was on continued to built for Jackie after a few fumbles in his first run. At the same time another rider from the Monster army roster, Justin Dowell, was able to throw down a solid very consistent run stacked with numerous whip and bar combos, and would no doubt land him on the podium.

Going into the second set of runs it was apparent that Straiton would need tol step his game up to hold on to his winning streak. With the pressure on, Jackie came out swinging throwing down an incredible run linking together a hip front flip, truck-driver to down whip, flair, and closing his run off with a 360 whip to bar.

The night wasn't over yet, Monster Army Sergeant Freddie Smith had something to say surprising everyone with a banger filled run, with tricks like a giant flip-bar on the box, 3-whip on the spine, a huge flair in the deep end of the bowl and then a double whip on the hip. It was apparent Freddie wanted to make a statement and earn his spot up there on the podium.

At the end of the day Jackie was able to hold on to his winning streak, making this his third win of the series. Coming in second was Justin Dowell, and coming in third was Freddie Smith. With only two more stops in the series this next one won't be one to miss!
