As the first gate dropped and round three began, it was none other than the Monster Energy backed #2 of Villopoto cresting the hill and rounding the first corner with an impressive holeshot. Despite great challenge from Justin Barcia, Ryan held off the rookie and within a few minutes was able to work his Kawasaki KX 450F to a comfortable lead landing win number five in a row this season. Moto two was a different story, as the current points leader went down early on and was forced to fight through the pack.
