Monster Army Mountain Bike Captain  Todd Renwick is this week's AOTW! Todd had a huge year in 2013 that included getting third place at the National Championships and receiving his pro license. Todd isn't stopping there and has even bigger goals for the future.

-Who influences you and why?

My main influences are my parents and friends who always push me to work harder and pursue my goals.

-What/ Who inspired you to start riding?

I started riding when my buddy Julian Divine showed me the trails he was working on at his house. I became inspired to push my riding further after watching the movies Seasons and Top Soil 2. Once I started racing, I really got hooked on mountain biking. Riders such as Steve Peat, Stevie Smith, Graham Agassiz, Sam Hill, and Brook MacDonald are big inspirations to me.

-What are your proudest moments/ accomplishments in 2013/2014?

My proudest moments of 2013 were placing 3rd at the National Championships, and getting my Pro license. So far this year a standout moment would have to be placing 2nd in Ashland, OR at the Spring Thaw DH.

-What part of your riding are you looking to improve upon most this year?

This year I hope to improve on my riding skill overall, as well as my fitness. Once I do that better results will hopefully follow.

-Have you had to overcome any challenges that made riding an obstacle at times? (i.e. Injuries, support)

The past couple years have been full of challenges and setbacks. I've broken my clavicle twice, my back, my hand, and my foot. In addition to injuries, the trails near my home were torn down and riding became a challenge to say the least.

-What is your daily routine and how do you prepare yourself for a day of riding?

My daily routine varies, I squeeze in ride time whenever I can. I try to put time in at the gym at least 5 days a week. Working gets in the way a lot, but doing hard physical labor is kind of like training.

-Where would you like to see yourself in the next few years?

In the next few years I would like to be riding and racing internationally. Getting to a few world cup rounds is a big goal for me. Being able to ride full time would be great as well.

-When I’m not riding you can find me____________________?

When I'm not riding you can find me up in the mountains snowboarding. Snowboarding is a big part of my life in the winter, I've been doing it as long as I can remember. In the summer I spend a lot of time in and around Pinecrest Lake and I also hang around Tahoe quite a lot too.

-Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank my parents first. They are my biggest supporters in so many ways. They have spent countless hours over the years shuttling me up mountains, and at races making sure everything is going smoothly. I'd also like to give a big thanks to Jon Tonnesen of JT Cycles, Justin Swett at Giant Bicycles, and the Ride Giant/Ride Northstar Team. Also thank you to Monster Energy, ODI, Deft Family, Ryno Power, and Atlas Brace.
