Your 2017 ProGRT series champion is Monster Army’s own BRUCE KLEIN!!! Huge congrats, Bruce, on taking the win and
the overall title!
The Kamikaze Bike Games marked the final stop on the 2017
ProGRT Downhill Series, taking place in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, CA at the
world renowned Mammoth Mountain Resort. The
stage was set for finals as the heavy hitters were within striking distance of
the overall. Bruce Klein was leading in
points lead and had his sights on sealing the deal on the overall title. Steven Walton was in attendance and qualified 1st in Juniors with a
comfortable lead, putting himself in a comfortable position heading into finals. Steven was able to battle to a bronze medal,
with Travis Claypool coming
down in 8th and Dante Silva coming down in 9th. Jarod Hanson managed a 6th place against a
stacked Pro class, with Warren Kniss taking 4th. Shane Leslie grabbed the hot
seat after a scorcher of a run. However,
our boy Bruce had his sights set on victory.
So what does he do?
HE SENDS IT, OF COURSE!! Bruce
came out of the gate cranking hard and absolutely pinned it the entire way
down. Flying into the “elevator shaft”
and crossing the line with a 1.9 second advantage, he would take the win and
secure the overall series title.
The top 3 women were not able to make the trip out to
Mammoth Mountain for the final round but they retained their series standings,
meaning our very own Angelina Palermo clinched the overall title.
