2017 UCI World Cup Finals: Val Di Sole

Author: Tim Remick

Located in Trentino, Italy, Val di Sol is the final stop of the 2017 UCI World Cup Series. Four months of non-stop action across eight countries in what is considered one of the most exciting World Cup seasons to date. Extra pressure was felt by ALL riders to grab as much points as possible for the overall standings, so everyone came out guns blazing. Monster Army Athletes Nik NestoroffCharlie HarrisonBruce Klein, & Shane Leslie charged hard into this season, putting up outstanding results as all of our athletes had stellar seasons all around.

Shane Leslie unfortunately had trouble in qualifying with a couple crashes and missed the cut for finals by only a few positions. Bruce Klein made his way into finals but had a less than stellar run after a crash left his bike tangled in a catch net, costing him some extra time. Nik Nestoroff also experienced a bit of bad luck having two crashes in his race run, which placed him into 13th in Juniors.

Charlie Harrison, on the other hand, came out firing and crossed the line in 2nd place, sitting next to the hot seat for good bit before being bumped back to a still-solid 17th place. Not bad at all for a second-year Elite who is well on his way to being a top contender. He would finish the year in 20th overall in points.
