Monster Army

2017 US Open of Mountain Biking - Event Recap

Author: Tim Remick

The US Open makes its return to American Downhill Racing this year, and Monster Army athletes made there way out east to Mountain Creek, NJ to be a part of the action.  The track was in all-time condition but still rough and challenging enough to keep riders on their toes.  Challenging technical rock sections forced riders to fully commit in order to stay on pace and make it down in a strong spot.  Lucky for us, the only mishap we had out of our athletes was just a flat tire.  all made it down safe and were able to still enjoy this historic event.

Shane Leslie came with a strong top 10 finish, followed up by Steven Walton staying within the top 20 (a strong finish for a junior rider).  Angelina Palermo finished strong in 4th against a stacked field.  Followed up by Josua henn grabbing the 7th spot in Amateur men.
