Monster Army

Hey Sierra, how’s the 2017/2018 been going for you?

I’ve had some ups and downs! I snagged a few days on hill in Australia this last season which was an awesome experience, but I’ve had some injuries in 2018 that have made it difficult to ride as much as I’d like.

What has been the highlight of the season so far?

My highlight so far was getting an invitation to be a guest pro at the SuperGirl Pro event. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it, but I’m excited for future events!

Do you have a trip planned for this year that you’re most excited about?

Not as of yet, but the year is still young! I would be super stoked to plan a camping trip up to Mt. Hood this summer to get some time in at the Timberline parks.

If you could snowboard with anyone in the world, who would you want to session with and where?

It would be super sick to ride with Danny Davis, Torstein Horgmo or Jamie Anderson in Switzerland!

Favorite thing to do when you’re not snowboarding…

Surfing! I’ve been surfing since I was a little kid and competed all throughout middle school, high school, and now I’m on the UCSD Surf Team. I try to get out there at least a few days a week when I’m not on snow!

Favorite TV show or movie to wind down to…

The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, or The Endless Summer

Favorite flavor of Monster…

Ultra Violet

What advice would you give to younger athletes out there, just getting started?

I would tell them to identify where their passions are and make it happen. Don’t let fear of rejection or failure discourage you. There will always be someone who says you can’t do it or don’t have the time or ability, but if you have the passion, make it happen for yourself and don’t listen to others’ negativity.

Any last thanks you or shout outs?

I would like to give a huge thanks to my parents for always supporting my snowboarding and the amazing coaches on the Mammoth Team for getting me to where I’m at!
