Checking in with Ski Major Robby Franco

Robby Franco is currently oversees competing in some of the biggest freestyle skiing events. He just finished up in Czech Republic and is now currently in Iceland.

"Just finished at the excellent Soldiers Big Air event in Czech Republic! Ended up finishing in the top eight! I was happy on how I skied. There was a great turn out for the event. I learned some new tricks and almost landed a new triple! Next stop, Iceland for the winter games! Looking forward to the slopestyle event that will be happening later this week."

We also caught up with Robby earlier in the year and this is what he had to say about his last few months competing.

"I ended up doing Slopestyle and Big Air at the Rev Tour. The weather was very challenging for both events. Making it difficult to ski consistently at the event with the high wind gust. Qualified first going into finals, but unfortunately I wasn't able to stomp my landings as cleanly as needed in finals to allow me to podium.

Next I went to Aspen for the Aspen Open. I put down some solid runs in semis, qualifying me second in my heat going into finals. Finals day we ended up getting blizzard conditions making it difficult to clear the first jump. Ended up finishing in the top 10 but was hoping for better.

Grand Prix at Park City, this event was like the rest. I practiced in blue bird days and stormy competition days. I felt good about this competition learning some new tricks for the event but unfortunately, I had struggles with the speed on the third rail causing me to change my run to a more stock run and ended up not getting the score I had wished not allowing me to qualify into finals."

Keep the good times rolling Robby!
