Nate Thrasher is Athlete of the Week

Author: Tim Remick

Coming off a successful 2016 season that included a title at Daytona RCSX, a title at JuniorMotoX, solid finishes at Lorettas as well as complete domination at Mini-Os. Is it safe to say you were pretty happy with how you finished out the 2016 season?

Yes, I was really happy with how the 2016 season went.  I worked really hard to improve my riding and it paid off.  I wanted to do a little better at Lorettas, but overall I was very pleased

A New addition to your program this year is joining Team green Kawasaki. How has that been treating you this year and How has the transition onto a Kawi gone?

Signing with Kawasaki Team Green has been so awesome.  It is the premier team in amateur MX and to be a part of it has been great.  Everyone over at Kawasaki has made the transition so easy.  The Kawasaki handles so good and is so fast, so it has really been a smooth transition.

Tell us a little bit about Mini-Os and how that week went for you? You were able to come away with the Platinum pipe award, but take me through what racing there is like and how you were able to make things Click.

Mini-Os was unbelievable.  I guess it was just my week.  It started with supercross and I came away with 2 championships and I really felt good.  Then, we went into motocross.  I know I had to get good starts and ride smart.  I ended up winning 3 championships in motocross, I really didnt have any idea I would win the Bronze Boot award or the Platinum Pipe award, so when they called my name, I was so surprised.  It was such a great honor to win those awards.

Off the bike, what are some things you like to do for fun and/or do for cross-training with Moto. Do you dabble with mountain bikes or other active activities to stay fresh?

I train at Millsaps Training Facility, so they keep us on a really good training program.  We do ride bikes and a lot of other training to keep us in shape.  Off the bike, I usually spend time with my family.  Millsaps Training facility is located in Georgia, about 7 hours away from my home.  so any chance I get, I go home.  I have a big family with 3 sisters and a brother and i have 6 nieces and nephews.

What are your goals for the 2017 season, both for yourself and for racing?

My goal for 2017 is to be better than i was the year before.  I want to improve each time I go out on the track.  My ultimate goal is to win a championship at Loretta's.  Personally, I guess my goal is to always do my best in whatever I do.

Any supporters/sponsors you would like to thank?

Yes, I want to thank all those that support and sponsor me.  First, I want to thank my Dad and Mom and all my family.  I also want to thank Kawasaki Team Green, Monster Energy, Pro Circuit, Lynks Racing, MTF, Seven, Bell Helmets, Alpinestars, Oakley, Ethika, Hinson Clutches, Nihilo, FMF, Renthal, Dunlop, and CCR Racing.
