Nationals,
One of the final events of the year to make your mark and show your stuff. And that's exactly what the Monster Army did! Claiming titles and showing all the spectators at copper mountain what we got! With a handful of different divisions and different events the monster army took the hill competing in both slopestyle and halfpipe for men, women, ski and snowboard.
Standing on the top the podium for women's slopestyle was Hailee Mattingley, as she threw down flawless run after flawless run qualifying first place in qualifiers and holding that same spot through finals to take home the National title in the Open Class. Sierra Casper went home thoroughly pleased with podiums across the board in all her events and took home the overall National title in the womens Jams (18-22) class.
For our men we had one of our youngest competitors Connor Ladd landing himself two podiums, a halfpipe third and slopestyle first for the breaker boys. Although his older brother and one of the youngest open division skiers wasn't able to clench a podium. He was able to not only get the hard charger award for slopestyle but the best trick/ highest air award in the halfpipe. Standing strong for the snowboard men we had Lucas Foster crushing the slopestyle course and sending it massive in the pipe and gaining himself a 5th place finish.
What turned out to be a beautiful week, and amazing event at copper for the USASA Nationals also showed that the Monster army is here for a good reason and our athletes know their way around the hill.
Congrats to our army, and finishing off another year strong.
