Tyler Worrall is Athlete of the week

Author: Tim Remick

Hi, Tyler!  Thank you for joining us today.  First off, Fill us in a little on how your 2016 season went?

The start of the season started kind of rough. I broke my ankle on a tootsie roll and missed the first two contests of the season. Thankfully after a month I was out of my boot and back to riding. Shortly after being back I landed my first Whirly 5 which was also my first mobe 5 I have ever done. I also had the opportunity to film with one of my best friends Thomas for Monster Army, which was awesome!

Coming off of a 4th at the WWA Wakeboard worlds, the competition must’ve been tight. Take me through how that whole event went for you.

Yeah it was stacked. I won my semis heat the day before but unfortunately fell twice in finals and fell just short of the podium. But I had a great time in Canada exploring the city and Niagara falls with all my friends.

You also got a win at the Gravel tour.  That must’ve been a cool experience, yeah?  tell us how that went.

It was a crazy contest for me. When i got to the contest I accidentally slammed my finger in the car door and basically had to ride one handed. I ended up riding great and won that stop which got me the overall win for the tour as well. Gravel tour is such a great event which I have been competing in since I was 6 years old.

Outside of wakeboarding, what are some other fun things you and your friends get up to?

We spend a ton of time on the trampoline. Its a perfect way to try crazy stuff at low impact and we push each other so much. We also go ride dirt bikes and skate quite a bit.

If you could pick one place in the world you wish you could wakeboard at, where would it be and why?

If I could pick one place to wakeboard it would probably be Thailand. They have some crazy cables there and the experience would be awesome. And I like Thai food a lot haha.

Right on!  I'll admit, Thai food hits the spot everytime! haha Moving on, what are some of your goals for 2017 and how are you preparing yourself for them?

This up coming season is my first year out of boys and I'm prepping for Jr. Pro Men. I’ve been working hard this off season to get some bigger tricks to help me go into this season strong.

Awesome! Good luck in 2017, Tyler, and thank you for your time.  would you like to thank anyone, before you go?

I would like to thank Monster Army for this opportunity, my coach Trevor Hansen, and all

the rest of my sponsors Ronix, Mystic, Performance, Nautique, and my parents for all their support.
