Leogang World Cup #3

We’re back in Europe for round three of the 2022 UCI Downhill World Cup at none other than the Leogang Bike Park in beautiful Leogang, Austria. Here you will find outstanding hospitality coupled with some of the most amazing views of the Austrian alps from the top of the racetrack.

Typical for world cup racing, the weather came in just before the first day of practice and proved to make a difficult course even more challenging. Here, Dylan Maples battles the elements in the thick, peanut butter like mud.

Ryan Pinkerton jumps into the well known “famous wood” section. After a crash in his qualifying run, Ryan would unfortunately have to sit out this weekend’s racing.

No stranger to these conditions, Tristan Lemire quickly gets up to speed in the first practice session and plants himself into a very respectable fourth place qualifying result.

Austin Dooley had an extremely close call in his qualifying run, riding his top tube through the muck on the hunt for his balance. After getting his bearing back, he pushes on to secure 44th and a spot into Saturday’s Final.

Dante Silva raises his arms in confusion just moments after his crash that causes him to DNF in his qualifying and miss a spot in the Finals.

Sam Toohey also fell victim to the ever-changing weather and track conditions, here he is seen stopping for a breather after a crash and regrouping before continuing. This is his first World Cup experience and now that he has one under his belt, we’re excited to see him gather his speed and excel.

Race day brought out a pleasant change of weather, and with most of the fog out of the way, allowed for a very picturesque background at the top. Tristan Lemire stayed consistent and smooth to finish off his weekend with a 7th place finish.

Austin Dooley headed out of the start hut and onto his way to 38th place finish! Austin has been showing very impressive consistency all season long and continues to improve week after week.

Andrew Driscoll is fresh on the world cup scene and is gathering the ever so important experience needed to continue pushing his limits!

That’s a wrap on round three of the UCI World Cup Series here in Leogang, Austria! Great to see our athletes out expanding their experience, skill sets, and love for the sport while also putting down some great results!
