Author: Olivia Reed

Monster Army is excited to announce two athletes - Jason Wolle and Lucas Foster - have been named to the U.S. Snowboard team. We had a chance to interview both athletes to hear about the experience. Read it all below!

Hey guys, congrats again! Tell us what this means?

JW: Being on the team means a lot to me because I have access to amazing resources and facilities that I can use to help better my snowboarding. It’s honestly a huge honor and I’m proud to rep the Stars and Stripes.

LF: It means we get to compete for the US and travel all over with a really cool group of riders that a lot of us looked up to growing up. It’s an honor!

How does it feel?

JW: Being on the team is like having a second family. Everyone involved is so nice and they want to see you succeed. Best support group ever.

LF: It’s feels awesome. Being on the team last year was super fun and definitely was a game changer for my career and I’m stoked to be back on.

Have you been on the team before?

JW: This is my second year on the rookie Halfpipe team and I’m excited to push myself this upcoming season.

LF: Yeah, I was on it for this last winter, it was so cool. They have a lot of great recourses and coaches and help us out a ton.

What’s it like to represent your country?

JW: Representing the United States at contests and events is the best feeling ever. I’m proud to be on the team and proud to have an amazing opportunity to push myself.

LF: I love it. It definitely is an extra thing to keep us motivated when we know we aren’t only out there riding for just ourselves, we’re also doing it for the US.

Do you have eyes on the Olympics one day?

JW: The Olympics are for sure a dream of mine. I’m shooting for 2022!

LF: For sure. I’d love to compete in the next Olympics.

What can we expect from the 2019-2020 season?

JW: For the next season, I’ll be competing in as many Grand Prix events as possible to try and make the pro team. Going to work on my 1260s and hopefully add that to my bag of tricks. I’ll be starting my season in October in Switzerland to get a proper start to the contest season.

LF: More contests and quality riding, lots of fun, more videos, lots of progression and hopefully inspiring others down the road!
