NSSA Explorer Division Finals 2018 - Huntington Beach, California

As Huntington Beach California awoke to a gloomy Thursday morning, Gabriela Bryan and Logan Kamen had already been awake preparing for the day ahead of them, which would consist of both the NSSA's Explorer Men's & Women's final rounds.

After Kamen had swept through earlier heats, he unfortunately found himself stuck through the Explorer Mens's final round, without a high scoring wave in sight. Drawing a bad hand of cards, Kamen finished in 4th place in the final. Locking himself in as our nations fourth best surfer to compete within the NSSA's Explorer Men's division. 

Kamen stayed nearby with teammate Alexa Muss to cheer on Gabby. 

On the flip side, after winning both the quarter and semi final rounds, Gabriela Bryan stormed through the women’s final round of the event with ease. Holding wave priority, Bryan locked in back-to-back high scoring waves, crowning herself the NSSA's 2018 Explorer Women's National Champion. Congrats Gabby!
