Monster Army came out firing today at the BMX Dirt qualifiers at X Games. Top
riders Colton Walker and Brian Fox not only came to impress, but came to win.
Both athletes qualified through to Sunday’s finals, after a heated qualifier. Competing against legends like Ryan Nyquist and Kyle Baldock, neither
athlete let the pressure get to their head, executing like true professionals.
Brian Fox came through with several of his signature
moves including a double backflip on the first jump and a 720 on the final jump into
a flair bar on the quarter, landing him in the top of qualifiers after his
first run. He solidified his spot in the final by dropping a massive double
backflip on the first set and closing with a 1080 on the final jump, landing
him in fifth.
“After such a comeback at Nitro Games, to hold on to the consistency
and come out here and make it into the finals was seriously indescribable. I’m
really excited to be on the deck with all of my friends on Sunday and can’t
wait to throw down," Fox said.
General Colton Walker is the epitome of calm, cool and collected.
The ever calm rider was stomping tricks like flip bar tucks, 3 whip to barspins
and also nailed a 3 double downwhip. He rides effortlessly and confidently in every contest. Walker says, “I’m stoked to make it into
finals, can’t wait to send it Sunday!”
Both riders will compete Sunday, July 16 in Minneapolis, MN for the chance to win Gold in BMX Dirt. You can tune in to watch your favorite riders at 1pm ET on ESPN. Don't forget to also keep an eye out for Colton Walker taking on BMX Park, Saturday, July 15 at 1pm ET on ESPN.
