Hey Dylan, how’s 2018 rounding
up for you?
It has been great so far. I've gotten to go to several camps
over the summer, and was able to compete in New Zealand for Halfpipe Jr. Worlds
and took 2nd place. I am also going to have the chance to compete in the Copper
Grand Prix in December, and hopefully be able to get into a few other Grand
Prix's.
What do you have
planned for the rest of the year?
I have a lot of training coming up and getting prepared for
competitions. December is going to be a fairly busy month for me, so staying in
good health is another plan. For ski competitions, I have Grand Prix at Copper
Mountain, and then a couple Elite Rev Tour events. Also, getting through finals
at Lakewood High School.
What are you most
excited about next year?
I made the U.S. Ski Team this year, and am super stoked to
be able to ski and train with all of those athletes and coaches. It's a great
opportunity that comes with a lot of travel to some really cool places.
Do you have any
contest rituals or superstitions?
I don't have any contest rituals or superstitions right now.
Usually, I try to focus on my tricks and try to breath, but other than that,
there isn't anything I do every contest.
If you could ski with
anyone in the world, who would you want to ski with and where?
If I had that chance,
I would go to some crazy big mountain peak in Alaska or the Alps with Sean
Pettit, Sammy Carlson, and Candide Thovex. I love skiing park, but if any of
these guys were to offer an invite, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity.
What do you think
your favorite place you’ve traveled has been to?
I think Cardona in New Zealand has been my favorite. There
is so much to do off the hill and the skiing is great. I got to go bungee
jumping for my 17th birthday. Also, the people there are super friendly and
helpful.
Any last thanks you
or shout outs?
I would like to thank my parents for letting me do this as
much as they have, my brothers Noah and Connor, my coach Jeremie Livingston,
and my Winter Park team of Hunter Carey, Svea Irving, Birk Irving, Mitch Lukes.
And to all my teachers at Lakewood for putting up with me and all my late
assignments from traveling.
And especially I would like to thank my sponsors, Monster
Army, Christy Sports, Spy Optics, Allstate, Innovative Financial, and Sarah
Burke Fdn. Without your support I couldn't have made it to this level.
