Tyson Bowerebank is soon to become a household name in the skateboarding world. He emerged into the scene a few years ago and has recently been in a lot of media coverage. In the past year Tyson has been busy filming with Darkstar and traveling to Paris where he got first place at the Far N’ High contest.
For those who haven't heard your name yet, who are you and how did you get involved in skating?I'm Tyson Bowerbank from Salt Lake and I’m 17. I found a skateboard in my mom’s friend’s garage when I was six and wanted one after that. I received one for my birthday and have been skating ever since.
You had a solid amateur career, what were some of your biggest highlights?Going on dark star trips have been pretty fun, and also going to Paris was awesome. It was my first time to Europe, and also the first big contest I won, so I was hyped!
Take us through the 2012 season - what were your goals were and how you did? Just tried to film as much as I could, and so far I'm happy with what I've gotten.
What are your plans for the remainder of the season and 2013?Just keep filming and skating as much as I can!
Who are your biggest influences?Reynolds, Collin provost, and all my homies.
What other sports do you do when you're not riding?I snowboard in the winter and golf occasionally with my dad.
If you could invent a flavor of Monster, what would it be?I'd stick with the half tea half lemonade one.
