Hi Xander! How has your year been treating you?
My year has been treating me
great! It's hard to complain when you live in such a beautiful place like Maui.
I’m changing up scenery in this month and moving to Huntington Beach,
California to pursue cinematography.

Where are some of your favorite spots
to skate in Hawaii?
My go to place to skate
would be Stonewave Skatepark in Paia where I live. When I need to change it up
and go skate something else I like to go to Langerds backyard bowl, any of the
many ditches we have on island or go explore the rugged street spots of
Wailuku.

Tell us a little more about your skate
school you run for the little ones.
Well I've been teaching kids
how to skate at my local skatepark (Stonewave Skatepark) for the past 3 years
or so. I run the school with my good friend Kaika Milanio where we do 1 on 1
private lessons in addition to group classes. The groms I teach are the
coolest! I love watching them all grow and progress both in and outside of skateboarding.

If you could skate one park in the
entire world, what park would you choose and why?
There is so many cool parks
I hope to one day get to skate but if I had to pick one it would be the Black
Pearl Skatepark in the Cayman Islands because I love doing big floaty airs and
going fast in bowls.

Aside from skating, do you also surf a
lot?
I do try to surf as much as
I can! I’ve found falling hurts way less in water! Haha. It’s really fun to try
to bridge the gap between water and land. I'm always trying to bring the flow
and style from surfing and transfer it to my grinds and airs when I skate.

What does a typical day in Hawaii look
like from your eyes?
I usually start my days off
by checking the weather and surf report. If there's any swells I like to go
surfing. If the ocean is flat I'll usually call up friends and go on a hike in
the mountains or go swimming in the waterfalls. After that I’ll get some lunch
and go skating and try to shoot some photos if I or any of my friends have
learned any new tricks recently.

AWESOME! Thanks, Xander! Any shout-outs you would like to make?
